Wondering what the best tech companies are?

TechFights is a rating matrix of the best tech companies and startups out there. They compare the headquarters location, number of employees, average salary, people rating, work/life balance rating, and interview experience. You can sort by any of the criteria listed, making it easy to track down the companies you want to view.

It includes a unified inbox, attachments browser, inline replies, powerful search features, and great security and privacy features (including 256-bit AES encryption and full support for OAuth2). A huge new milestone for Kickstarter

It's official: Kickstarter just hit 100,000 funded projects. That's a huge new milestone for the popular crowdfunding site. A photobook titled "Falkland/Malvinas: One War, All Wars" was the landmark project after it hit its $45,000 funding goal. To celebrate, Kickstarter has pulled together a list of 100 interesting facts about the company.

Vintage-style NASA "travel" posters

New Work: Visions of the Future for NASA is an art project undertaken by Invisible Creature on behalf of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The three posters in the series have a vintage sixties style, and would have looked right at home on the set of Star Trek. The images are being used as part of JPL's Visions of the Future 2016 Calendar, which unfortunately is an internal gift unavailable to the public.

Slick UI animation GIFs

These 36 incredibly well-designed user interface animations show just how much the small details can improve an overall user experience. The smooth, creative transitions are a joy to watch, even though they're all basically just a split second. There are menu transitions, search bars, responsive icons, sending email icons, and many more.

The colors of music 2015

Album Colors of the Year 2015 showcases the rainbow of colors used in the year's best album covers. There are covers from The Decemberists (pink), Adele (tan), Snoop Dogg (green, of course), Lana Del Rey (blue), Alabama Shakes (black), Bell and Sebastian (gray), and Florence and the Machine (white), among dozens of others.

2 photographers, 2 different places, for 12 hours

Jetlag is a photography project that took two photographers in two different places and had them take at least one shot every 30 minutes. The photographers are located in the US (Thomas C.) and Iceland (Axel C.), and the striking differences between the landscapes they photograph only add to the beauty of the project.

Uber's new in-house identity

Uber's new branding has undergone quite a bit of scrutiny and criticism since being revealed. Much of the scrutiny surrounds the intensive involvement of Uber's non-designer CEO, Travis Kalanick, and his micromanagement of the process. That non-designer involvement is very apparent in the end design, for better or worse.

How designers really work

How designers worked in 2015 shows how designers who upload their work to Avocode really work. They analyzed every design (anonymously)—over 400,000 of them—and broke down things like Photoshop vs. Sketch (Sketch has 43% market share), the styling that was in fashion, and the most popular typeface (Open Sans, at 24%), among other data.
